We are excited to introduce The Definitive Guide To Phone Charging Stations!
Since we started making mobile charging stations back in 2012, we have gotten a lot of questions ranging from how KwikBoost got started to what industries we serve (hint… if there is a location where a lot of people congregate, then phone charging stations are perfect!) One question that has been asked often recently is, “How are phone charging stations made?” At first, we thought about putting together a rather long blog post offering tons and tons of details but that wouldn’t have survived on the internet (especially since the average attention span on the internet is 8 seconds!) So we got one of our awesome designers (say hi to Brian!) to put together an infographic that will give you lots of details on how phone charging stations are made. Enjoy!
Pretty awesome, right?! If you can’t see the infographic, here are the highlights…
Phone charging stations are made up of many parts but there are four main components:
- Tech box
Although all parts are important, the “engine” is definitely the tech box. This is where the magic happens! The box is RoHS compliant. You may be wondering, “What in the world is RoHS?” Glad you asked! It stands for “Restriction of Use of Hazardous Substances.” I will save you the boring details by summarizing it in one sentence: Our tech box isn’t dangerous to you, us or the environment.
The cables connected to the tech box transfer power to whatever mobile devices they are connected to. What makes these cables stand out is that they are MFi certified. “What does MFi certified mean?” Another fantastic question! It stands for “Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod.” In one sentence, it means: We have been given permission by Apple to sell/manufacture authorized accessories (such as cables.) When you are looking for phone charging stations, be sure to ask about this! The last thing you want to do is buy something illegal.
If the tech box is the “engine” of phone charging stations, then the Billboard is the “body”! It is a patented, unibody that has multiple purposes. You can advertise by having customized displays. You can also leave your mobile devices on the Billboard thanks to the ledge built into it! If you do leave your mobile devices, you don’t have to worry about the cables being tangled or breaking because there are two perfectly optimized holes that offer the right amount of strain relief. We thought of everything:)
The last two components (Upright and Base,) are the “tires” of phone charging stations. The Upright was designed/manufactured with three things in mind: Stability, portability and durability. The Base is connected to the Upright with two bolts and this keeps the whole thing well-balanced. Whether you are moving your phone charging stations or they are in an area that has a lot of foot traffic, you don’t have to worry about them getting tipped over!
Congrats! Now that you’ve read a brief description of phone charging stations AND scanned an infographic, you’re an expert! Be sure to bookmark our blog for future tidbits of information!
